First Draft

Today, human being acquired high level of scientific technology and it makes us to understand how our mind operate and even makes it possible to create artificial intelligence which works similar to our brain. Some scientist and people are arguing that someday artificial intelligence of computer will catch up with human's brain as we can see from SF movies such as 'I robot' or 'Terminator'.
In fact, because of mass supply of personal computer, popularization of smart phone, and rising of super computer, there are already many artificial intelligence in our daily lives. Like automatic spelling check, manless airplane, and portal site that provides related search, things that accumulate information from human and use if for appropriate situation are all fragmentary 'artificial intelligence'. Those limited kinds of artificial intelligences are all over the our society. But, realization of true artificial intelligence that can think and act like human and even overcome us is impossible and it will be impossible in future too.

The concept of Artificial Intelligence is created in recent period.
A mathematician of UK, Turing presented a thesis called “Computing Machinery and Intelligence” in 1950. In the works, he said that if you don’t know whether you are talking with human or computer, you should look the computer has intelligence. After, this process called ‘turing test’ Term, ‘ Artificial Intelligence’ initially referred at ‘Dartmouth Conference’ in 1956. At the time, mathematician and computer scientist of Dartmouth University, Jhon McCarthy planed “ Artificial Intelligence Summertime Research Project” He also defined artificial intelligence learning as a science and technology of making intelligent machine.
In 1997, Deep Blue which is super computer that IBM developed beat world chess champion, Garry Kasparov and in 2011 Watson which is another super computer won the quiz show 'Jeopardy'. These examples showed the possibility of the A.I in the world. Also, Scientist of MIT, Marvin Minsky predicted positively that A.I which has similar to human brain will be created in a century.
While, John Searle indicated limitation of artificial intelligence with taking a example of 'Chinese Room'. Chinese Room is this. First, let a person who doesn't know chinese to an impassable room. Second, give him chinese translation task. Third, provide him meanings of chinese vocabularies. In this experiment, a person doesn't know about chinese grammar and meaning of the chinese task. But, he can translate. This chinese room hyperbole that computer can treat some certain tasks, but doesn't know the meaning of it. We can learn a fact from the experience that computers can do certain works but they are very limited.

There are three limitations of computer compare to human brain.
First, artficial intelligence of computer has physical limitation. Human brain thinks through its 200 billion neurons and quadrillion synapsis. However, a latest super computer has only succeeded in realization 5 thousands neurons and 15 million synapsis. To advance more, renovation of technology and new kinds of computer is needed. Also, a well know scientist, Stephen Hawking said that " Neural ability of computer is more worse than a jellyfish.".
Second, artificial intelligence of computer has limitation in data process. When someone ask people "what do you think about love?", then each person will answer creatively and variously according to their ways of thinking and situations. However, computers are still in limitation to answer the questions like this that require various consideration. For example, computer had beaten a human in chess time ago, but in the case of go which has a lots of variables in game, champion is still a human.
Third, artificial intelligence has a limitation in philosophical thinking. A thinking ability of human has already explained in brain science and psychology. However, creativity from presentiment, intuition, and imagination that derived from unconsciousness of human mind can't be explained. To say again, human has a not only intelligent logic of consciousness but also presentiment, intuition, and imagination from unconsciousness which surpass the logic of artificial intelligence.

I concede that artificial intelligence is developing very rapidly in various fields. Actually, artificial intelligence is very important in the fields of autonomous navigation vehicles, intelligent robots in manufacture and service, electronic tagging, and traffic control system. Also it is true that artificial intelligence is very efficient. But, these kinds of artificial intelligence can work in only certain conditions and circumstances. However, intelligence of human is not only in brain, but also in sociality. Human brain develop its ability through interaction with other people. In other words, human brain is definitely different from database or CPU of computer. Human intelligence is developed in continuous learning from the social activity. Artificial intelligence can't have a complicated learning skills because it doesn't have a sociality like human.

Artificial intelligence technology is developing just now too. Autonomous navigation car is driving itself, intelligent robot in manufacture and service is showing the 14% annual grow rate in whole world, intelligent monitor system and traffic control system is making our lives more convenient. In that case, is it possible to artificial intelligence catch up with human brain in future? I think it is not. Human brain has very superior learning ability to artificial intelligence, our application ability is out standing too. Above all things, computer can never acquire the ability of unconscious thinking and response like human. Furthermore, artificial intelligence of computer doesn't have such a lots of neurons and synapsis as our brain have and computer can not think as we synthesize various information at once and think creatively because it treat data only one by one. For these reason, although technologies of artificial intelligence develop, artificial intelligence can't catch up with human brain even in future.

First draft Outline

1. The introduction
I will grab a attention of readers with familiar example of artificial intelligence, 'I robot', and 'terminator'. Then I will change attention by saying there are already various kinds of artificial intelligence in our everyday lives. Lastly I will end with the sentence that emphasize limitation of A.I compare to human brain.

2. The narration
I will summarize the definition and history of an artificial intelligence and I will emphasize that human brain has distinct advantages relates to artificial intelligence of computer.

3. The confirmation
I will point out limitations of artificial intelligence in 3 views. First, I will emphaize physical limitation of computer that can't have such a many synapsis of human brain. Second, I will indicate that data process of computer is sequent so can't treat many information at once as human. Third, I will emphasize that computer can't have philosophical thoughts as human.

4. The refutation and concession, which looks at opposing viewpoints to the writer’s claims, anticipating objections from the audience, and allowing as much of the opposing viewpoints as possible without weakening the thesis.
I will concede that more kinds of artificial intelligence will be appear and develop in more various fields, but I will emphasize that these kinds of artificial intelligence can work in only certain condition and circumstances with the example of John Searle so it is hard to look these kinds of artificial intelligence has cognitive ability as human brain.

5. The summation
I will summarize how human brain is superior to artificial intelligence of computer. Then, I will emphasize limitation of artificial intelligence that can't be overcome even in future. Lastly, I will suggest example of go, which has human champion while chess champion of today is supercomputer, emphasize how information process of human is different from A.I of computer, and reaffirm my thesis.

week 3 Articulation

Articulation

1) My argument
Write your argument in one sentence.
I want to argue that artificial intelligence of computer can never catch up with human brain in future. Today, as computer technology is developing rapidly according to appearance of smart phone and super computer, highly qualified artificial intelligence is rising too.

2) How I found my argument
Explain how your research helped you find your argument. Or, in other words, how did your research evolve into your argument? Start with your research question.
My research question was is it possible to artificial intelligence catch up with human brain. I researched for how brain and computer are different. According to information I found, different from computer, human brain is consist of a nerve network and synapsis that make us to treat millions of informations at once. While, computers information process is sequent, they can only treat information one by one. In other words, human brain is great organism but computer is only a piece of machine.

3) New research questions
a) What are new technologies for overcoming of limitation of computers?
b) How human brain evolves?
I will find some information that can answer above questions and use them for supporting my argument.

4) Connections to the Harvard Sampler
My argument has strong connections to the Harvard Sampler. First of all, my question that weather is artificial intelligence of computer can catch up with ability of human mind is directly related to the 'chapter.1 human mind.'
